Thermal Performance Upgrades

Improving how your home performs — not just how it looks.

Most homes were not built with today’s performance expectations in mind.

Insulation was limited.
Air sealing was minimal.
Thermal performance was not a primary consideration.

Why This Matters Now

Over recent years, seasonal conditions have shifted. Summers are longer. Heat loads are higher. Homes that once felt comfortable are now struggling to maintain stable internal temperatures.

Improving the building envelope provides a more consistent and reliable outcome — without relying entirely on mechanical cooling.

Why Re-cladding Is the Opportunity

Thermal upgrades require access to the wall cavity. When external cladding is removed, that access becomes available. Once reinstated, it is effectively gone.

This is the stage where:

  • Insulation can be installed properly

  • Air leakage can be addressed

  • Windows can be integrated correctly

  • Future provisions can be built in

What This Allows

A re-clad can be approached at different levels.

At a minimum:

  • Insulation is improved

  • Major air leakage is reduced

  • The building envelope is corrected

At a higher level:

  • Glazing is upgraded

  • Shading is introduced

  • Systems are coordinated

  • Future provisions are built in

  • Future-Proofing During Construction

Allowances for future systems can be installed while the structure is open.

After completion, these typically require reopening finished work.

This includes:

  • EV charging provisions

  • Solar and battery readiness

  • Cooling system allowances

  • Structural support for shading

What You Receive

All thermal upgrade projects include Thermal Performance Documentation Pack

This provides a clear record of:

  • insulation types and installation

  • wall wrap and sealing

  • window systems

  • construction stages

This documentation supports:

  • long-term ownership

  • future upgrades and resale clarity
